Semester I / II - Theory: Paper I - Study of Techniques I&II

1. To know the theoretical aspects of the core concepts of Indian classical dance.
2. Student will be able to understand and apply these concepts to practicals.
3. Student will be able to enhance the quality of performance.

Sem I Paper II Ritual : Concept and Connection with Dance

1. Describe and anayse concept of Ritual.
2. Understand connecction between Rituals and different Art forms.
3. Understand the significance of Rituals in dance.

Sem II Ritualistic Mythology

1. Understand the development of a phenomenon as a deity.
2. comprehend the myths pertaining to deities.

Sem I Rhythm Music

1. To understand and analyse the culture and History of South Indian Music.
2. Able do notation of Music.
3. Aquire knowledge of technical terms used in Carnatic Music.

Sem II Study of Musicology and Composers

1. Aquire knowledge of the composers and their works.
2. Able to understand the contribution and influence of the Composers and Music on Dance forms.

Sem I and Sem II Study of Mohini Attam

1. To understand and analyse philosophical and aesthitic importance of the dance style.
2. Aquire knowledge about theatrical art forms of Kerala.

Sem I and Sem II Myths and Legends in Mohini Attam

1. Aquire knowledge Traditional myths connected with the dance style- Mohini Attam.
2. Students are able to understand co-relation between Dance and other Art forms.
3. Aquire knowledge of Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Shaktism and other cults and their connection with Dance.

Sem I Communication Skills in English

1. Deliver an excellent presentation.
2. Participate in debate.
3. Apply theories to present Epic characters.

Sem II Communication Skills in English

1. Participate in group discussion.
2. Use netiquets.
3. Lead as a perfect dancer.

Sem I and Sem II Folk Dance

1. To aquire basic information about folk dances in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
2. To perform selected folk dances in traditional way.

Sem I and Sem II Bharatanatyam / Mohiniattam

1. Aquire practical knowledge of Basic techniques of the styles (other than the style they are learning in the programme).
2. To perform selected items of the style.
