    Nalanda Vanamahotsav 2020

    Van Mahotsava is an annual tree planting festival in the month of July. During this festival thousand of trees are planted all over India. It was started to create awareness in the mind of the people for the conservation of forests and planting of new trees as a festival of life! In India it was started as a crusade to save mother earth.
    Nalanda celebrated Vana Mahotsava 2020 by urging students to plant diverse species of saplings with zest and hope all over India in their hometowns while battling the pandemic and staying postive and hopeful for the future yet to unfold by respecting Mother Nature.
    Aswathy MK Nair planted a sapling and discussed the importance of environment, nature and specifically trees in the beautiful backdrop of her hometown Kerala. Rutika Galbale from Mumbai offered an ode to Nature showcasing the caring and loving side of the Mother Earth. Rukmini Iyer from Mumbai reinforced the importance of having a tulsi plant in our homes. Samiksha Shah planted a sapling in her hometown Solapur and performed a soulful dance piece on importance of saving trees. Priyal Najpande planted a snake plant in jute bag at her hometown Jabalpur and threw light on the importance of the rare snake plant and Vanamahotsav. Varsha Pawar from Mumbai planted a sapling and narated the journey of the growth of a plant through dance. Vaishnavi Gawre planted a sapling in her hometown Nagpur and dedicated a poem to Vanamahotsav. Lakshmipriya Nair from Mumbai presented an offering to Nature and its beauty. Vaishali Varma from Mumbai planted a sapling and paid obeisance to Mother Earth through Yoga.
