Kathak exponent Shri Sandip Mallick ji conducted a lecture on the Geometric Analysis of movements in Kathak on the 31st of August at Kanak sabha, wherein angular movements of hands and feet were discussed. In the demonstration, Angikam Bhuvanam Yasya Shloka was interpreted through the repertoire of Kathak wherein Angika Abhinay was represented by Thaat, Vachika Abhinay was represented by Padhant and the

sound of Ghungroos, Aharya Abhinay represented by the technical

composition like Todas and Parans. Lastly Sattvika Abhinaya was represented by the way Artists dedicate themselves to the Art.

The lecture Demonstration ended with a glimpse into the practice of Kathak Yoga, where in the dancers themselves maintain the Laya without any musicians by reciting the beats of the Tala verbally whilst executing the complex choreography of the composition.
