Nalanda Students perform at Ameya Palak Sanghatana (A residential facility for special people.

The Nalanda troupe has presented this presentation of 'Mayura Alaripu' and 'Devi Parashakti' on various platforms this year. One of these platforms is the Gharkul by Ameya Palak Sanghatana (APS)which is a residential facility for mentally challenged, located near Dombivali MIDC in Maharashtra, helping them empower and educate themselves in all aspects of life. The students were accompanied by Lecturer Smt. Radhika Nair ma'am who was felicitated by the august members of the committee.

'Alaripu' is the first item that is learnt by a dancer in the repertoire of bharatanatyam called margam. What makes this Alaripu special is that it is based on lord Murugan the lord of the war, and his vaahana which is a peacock that represents beauty, victory and complete surrender.

The next is 'Devi Parashakti' which shows the power of the feminine, equality between all the genders and victory of the good over the evil.
